Hot Rods at La Quinta

Jan 31/2015 Saturday and Sunny 80 and 58 at night.   The paint jobs on these cars are shining brightly.  Men and their toys :)

custom '40 Ford - wild looking
9th annual Hot Rod and Custom Car show sponsored by the La Quinta Chamber of Commerce.   Well the admission price is right (free) so we stopped to take a look.
Maybe this would make a cool new "tow vehicle" for us?

For years my Dad had a '34 Ford Coupe Hot Rod that he loved to drive, but in Ontario there were not that many around.   We were stunned how many Ford Coupes in that vintage 1930's we saw in this small show - about a half a dozen.   Nice!  And some other wild looking modified custom cars too.

And then there is my crazy husband who is always drawn to old station wagons,,,, land yachts?  When he was raising little kids in the 70's and 80's he had a Buick Estate wagon with the wood grain on the doors....  Yes you know exactly the picture in your mind of those cars right?  So guess where I find him ?  Eyeing up this beautiful restored and customized Buick wagon.
Too bad it did not have the wood grain,,,, or we would have to get this one.....
