Jan 22, 2013 We had a bit of a close call the second day we were camped here in Cedar Key RV Resort. Surrounding us are a number of acres of scrub land and wild life reserve. There was a controlled burn going on nearby however; suddenly our campground was filled with firetruck and EMS vehicles and sirens. Apparently there was another fire that was not a controlled burn and it was headed for the campground. Luckily the wind was pushing it away from our location but it still came with in a few hundred yards of the last row of campers. It is very, very dry in Florida.
